Heartbroken and frustrated, I began researching and read everything I could find to understand what happened to my job. What I learned enraged me. Amazon and online shopping didn’t kill Toys ‘R’ Us as many people had claimed. Private equity executives did. They bought the company, extracted assets and value out of it, lined their own pockets, then left us to crumble under a $5 billion debt. Toys ‘R’ Us was still bringing in profits every year, and our biggest threat wasn’t the internet. It was Wall Street greed.
A travesty of justice that Lula was imprisoned in the 1st place. Kudos to Glenn Greenwald & all who went to the mat for his release. Now let’s fight for political prisoners Julian Assange & Chelsea Manning, whose brutal imprisonment makes a mockery of our justice system!
Tell me some more how Bill Gates is the “good billionaire,” because he avoids taxes with the Gates Foundation? Wealth ALWAYS protects wealth, and it doesn’t give two shits about you. (Bonus points if you remember that it was just about 3 months ago, he and Melinda made the rounds pretending they’re totes okay with paying more in taxes.)

What?! You don’t have any bone-in cherry cake donuts?
Stop calling our corporate government a “Democracy.”
Stop calling our corporate media “Journalists.”
It’s an oligarchy + they are propagandists.
We don’t ask “how are we going to pay for it” when it comes to writing a $2 trillion check to give billionaires a tax cut.
“Fun-size terrorists.” But remember, Obama finished two presidential terms without a scandal.
Via The Intercept:
The killings, part of the Obama administration’s targeted assassination program, are aiding terrorist recruitment and thus undermining the program’s goal of eliminating such fighters, the veterans added. Drone operators refer to children as “fun-size terrorists” and liken killing them to “cutting the grass before it grows too long,” said one of the operators, Michael Haas, a former senior airman in the Air Force. Haas also described widespread drug and alcohol abuse, further stating that some operators had flown missions while impaired.
Fascinating how power outages in Venezuela are proof that socialism is an utter failure but power outages caused by wealthy executives bonusing themselves so they didn’t have to repair outdated power lines in California in no way reflects the failures of unfettered capitalism.
